Dr. Scott Overholser – What happens when Invisalign treatment is finished
Dr. Scott Overholser has treated many patients and had great success with Invisalign. When most patients finish wearing the last tray, or set of trays, in the treatment sequence, retainers are fabricated and patients wear them at night while sleeping.
On rare occasions, Dr. Scott Overholser has found that after completion of the last tray, the teeth, or bite, may not be exactly where desired. In this case, a refinement consisting of 2-3 sets of additional aligners is used to fine-tune or tweak the process to get the desired result. However, if strict patient compliance is achieved, then the refinement process is rarely needed.
